Daily Calories (BMR & TDEE)

How many calories you burn just staying alive (BMR), and how many you actually burn in a full day (TDEE).

How this works

BMR (basal metabolic rate) uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation:

  • Male: 10 × weight + 6.25 × height − 5 × age + 5
  • Female: 10 × weight + 6.25 × height − 5 × age − 161

TDEE multiplies BMR by an activity factor (1.2 to 1.9). This is an estimate — individual metabolism varies, and the equation is most accurate for adults.
