BMI Calculator

Body mass index (BMI) is a screening measure that relates your weight to your height. It is not a direct measure of body fat or health.

How this works

BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)2. Categories follow the World Health Organization's standard adult bands:

  • Below 18.5 — Underweight
  • 18.5 – 24.9 — Normal weight
  • 25.0 – 29.9 — Overweight
  • 30.0 and above — Obesity

BMI is a population screening tool and does not distinguish muscle from fat. Athletes and older adults may be misclassified.

Medical disclaimer: BMI is a general screening estimate, not a diagnosis. Talk to a healthcare provider before making health decisions based on this result.
