Markdown preview

Write on the left, read the rendered version on the right. Useful for checking that a heading landed at the right level before you paste it somewhere you cannot preview.

Preview

What it renders

Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic, inline code, links, ordered and unordered lists, block quotes, horizontal rules, and simple pipe tables. That covers most drafting needs and nothing that can execute.

Any HTML you paste appears as literal text. This is deliberate: a preview that runs arbitrary HTML is a preview that can run arbitrary scripts.

Preview is not publication

Every platform that accepts Markdown uses a slightly different flavour. Tables may render here and be rejected there; a link may open safely in this tab and be stripped on the destination site.

Treat this as a structural check, then look at the published page before you announce it.
